Doodlebug Design Happy Harvest Collection

Fall has always been my favorite holiday! From getting to wear fuzzy slippers and over sized hoodies- to football and crunching leaves - this season just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! Being a self proclaimed Foodie - I look forward to yummy soups and ciders and my favorite baked goods! I love pumpkin chocolate chip cookies - they just scream fall food to me, so I thought it would be fun to spread the fall love with this cute little box that can hold a few delicious baked goods.

I used my Scor-pal tool to make the box and followed this tutorial to make it. I added a layered pattern paper bow and some mini flowers with a bright red sprinkle in the middle. Add a "Grateful for You" sentiment and get ready to send it to that special someone who deserves a little treat.

My Craft Studio starring ME!

Hello everyone! A few weeks back I had the privilege of going to film a little segment on My Craft Channel. I share my love of all things cute, my passion for designing for some fabulous companies and learn a little bit about my crafty pursuits and my love for a certain song " pre MTV VMA's" lol! Kristine McKay is so fun to work with - makes being on camera so much less stressful! And I have to give a big shout out to my bestie Lori Allred who set it all up. She is not only a great friend , but a great "agent" as well. I am blessed and lucky to have someone I get to share my love of crafting with - as well as hang out with and just chill :) She is the best! Love you girl!

I just have to say it has been so fun over the last year or so to get to spread my wings a little bit in the crafty world. I got to work behind the scenes with Doodlebug Design and be able to design projects for their booth at CHA. For those of you who don't know what CHA is, it is a huge trade show featuring many, many scrapbook and paper craft companies. They have booths that show what products with be on sale for the upcoming half of the year. There are 2 shows - one in summer and one in the winter. Being a paper crafter it is like the best to be able to attend CHA and to see all the beautiful projects that the companies have designed. It is lots and lots of eye candy. I am so impressed with the creativity of so many designers.
If you are in the Salt Lake area as well - Id love for you to come over and check out my LSS (local Scrapbook Store) and second home Heartland Paper Co. in Bountiful, Utah. I have been there for almost 16 years now and I just love this happy place. It makes me sad to see so many Mom and Pop Stores closing down- so please - support your local stores - stop by and see my friend Donna - the owner of Heartland. She is truly one of the most giving and helpful managers I have had the pleasure of working with - SUPPORT LOCAL! My P.S.A. for the day lol :)
Thanks for stopping by and hello to all my new followers! Leave me some love! I'd love to follow you all back on your blogs as well. Thanks for stopping by! Happy Crafting!

Back to School with Doodlebug!

It's time to get organized! Today on the Doodlebug Design blog I had a fun little locker caddy up for our Back to School week project ideas. This would look great hanging up in that cute little student of yours' locker - dontcha think??
I used a cut file for the Silhouette machine called a "hanging note holder". I loved the pocket and room on the top section for either some post -it notes or even a photo! Add some magnetic strips along the back of the caddy and you have a place to hold all of your supplies! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy crafting!

Wedding Favor with Scor-pal and VivaLasVegas Stamps

Hi there - Tya  here with my take on the fun swap that we got to participate with VivaLasVegas Stamps and Scor-pal. What a cool site VivaLasVegasStamps is! All sorts of interesting and fun stamp images! It was so hard to choose the stamps I wanted to use! But I did decide on one that is going to be perfect for a project I am really excited to do. My little brother announced his engagement a few months back with the wedding being in September in none other that Las Vegas! I wanted to make some fun little wedding table favors to add to the wedding decor and I fell in love with the boy and girl symbols on the stamp sheet that I choose. I like to call them "Potty People" because they remind me of the signs on restroom doors :) Here is what I came up with:

 Wedding Favor Box
Supplies:
8 1/2 x 11 Pattern Paper ( I used We R Memory Keepers Chalkboard Line)
2 1/2 x 3 1/2 pink pattern paper for tag
2 1/4 x 2 1/2 white cardstock for tag
(2) 1 x 2 1/2  white cardstock for chevron border stamp
teal ribbon
black and white bakers twine
yellow button
black ink
yellow ink
Sticker sheet for embellishments and tag title (We R Memory Keepers Chalkboard line)
Dove Chocolates

Step 1: One 8 1/2 inch side, score at 2 1/2, 3, 5 1/2 and 6 inches.

Step 2: On 11 inch side, score at 4 and 7 inches.
Step 3: Turn paper so that the 8 1/2 inch side is on the top. Trim away the 4 corners as shown. Make sure you trim on the inner most score line (at the 3 and 6 inch score line.)
Step 4: Notice that you still have 2 scored lines on this middle section. Fold on these lines to create the box shape for the inner section of the favor.
Step 5: Add your treat or whatever you would like to fill this section with. I used 3 Dove Chocolates and they fit perfectly. I attached the chocolates with a glue dot.
Step 6 : Add Scor tape on one outer edge and one inner edge of the paper to seal up the section with the candy.
Step 7: Add Scor tape to the top edge of the other section of the box.
Step 8: Glue the two top sections together as shown
Step 9: Stamp the people image on the 2 1/4 x 2 1/2 white cardstock and 2 chevron border stamps on the 1 x 2 1/2 inch white cardstock.
Step 10:Add the chevron borders to fit the front and back of this section of the box. Add yellow ink.
Step 11: Make a tag using the white "Potty People"  and the pink pattern paper. Add stickers to the tag and punch a small hole in the top of the tag.
Step 12: Decorate the box using the teal ribbon, the bakers twine and a button.

Here is the final project! Thanks for joining me for this fun hop! Happy Scoring!
